Financial education is core to all of our programs, deeply embedded into the credit union philosophy and our asset-building work. Whether we are working with participants in matched savings account programs or clients at free tax sites, it is key for the success of our programs.
We understand that sometimes our partners and credit unions are strapped for resources. If this sounds like you, we can help...
Contact us for more information regarding your financial education needs, whether you are planning a community event or if you would like us to join you for an employee function to discuss a specified financial topic. In the past we have presented at chapter meetings, lunch and learn events, in classrooms, at conferences and workshops. Whatever your need may be, we can supply (and often time facilitate) the financial content.
In an effort to improve the depth of the financial education offered, MCUCD is working on an initiative that will lay in place the structure to provide trained financial counselors and coaches throughout the state. While many asset building programs are effective for the time the participant is involved, the continuation of good financial habits can be challenging. With this in mind, we are moving towards the next phase of our financial education efforts--financial coaching and counseling. For us, starting a relationship with a financial coach feels less like putting a band-aid on a problem and more like giving the person the resources and tools to truly work towards long-term financial stability.
